Animation

Advanced Stop Motion Animation, Motion Graphics, Basic 3D Animation

Featured: Oak Short Film

This film was a great learning process and deep dive into the world of stop motion animation. It was the first time I created my own puppets, sets and animated everything. I'm proud of how it turned out but mostly it stands out to me as a starting point to my love of animation and I am excited to create more films. The whole project was made in my small apartment so each shot had to be animated in one sitting so that my cat wouldn't mess up the continuity.

Featured: Shrek Retold 2 Collaborative Re-Animation

When I was approached for this project I was super excited having seen the creativity and success of the first Shrek Retold. I used the original film for animation reference but the style of the first sequence is based on Rankin/Bass animations. It was filmed on a super 8 camera at 12FPS and it was a great experience to animate on film. The second sequence is styled after Aardman Animations and was a different challenge to sculpt 5 replacement faces for each character top match the Aardman style. I'm super grateful to be included in a project with so many talented animators and actors
Check out the full film in September 2024.

Editing and Motion Graphics

Featured: Dolby Institute Podcast

Being the main editor on an episode of the Dolby institute podcast was  a great challenge due to the length and all the great information that I wanted to include. I had a unique perspective because I was also one of the main camera operators on set. I'm super happy with how it turned out and I'm grateful I could help pass on all of these talented filmmakers story's.

Featured: Floyd's 99 Barbershop Miniature Barbers Chair

The first step in creating this miniature barbers chair was to create a 3D model in Blender. As a reference I also used this 3D model to give blocking to the final stop motion animation. I then 3D printed the model in separate parts from a resin 3D printer. With resin printers you need to add holes to the model to allow the resin to escape during printing so the next step was to cover the holes with an epoxy putty and sand it down. I then painted each of the seven parts individually and then glued them together. It was then ready for lighting and animation!

Events and Art Direction

While working on my first feature as a Key PA I was often tasked with assisting the art team. Since then I have worked with the art department on many commercials and short films. I have also worked as a fabricator and decorator for many pop up bars and experiences around Denver including Denver Fashion Week and The Tim Burton Bar.
